Award-winning composer and violinist Andrew Poole Todd is one of
Oregon's most promising young talents. He has conducted premieres of his works
with local orchestras, and he has earned numerous awards for his compositions. An
increasing number of professional and community orchestras are performing
Andrew’s music, including the Asia America Symphony Orchestra, Portland
Columbia Symphony, Starlight Symphony, and the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber
Orchestra.
As a film composer, Andrew has contributed to over 6 film
and television titles including the highly anticipated War Flowers, starring Christina Ricci and Night of the Templar, David Carradine’s last film. Andrew also
composed additional music for several episodes of the award-winning soap
series, The Bay.
In addition to
composing, Andrew is an accomplished violinist and can frequently be heard
performing on his own recordings. He was the concertmaster of the Starlight
Symphony from 2008-2011. Andrew studied violin
with Carol Sindell, a student of the legendary Jascha Heifetz.
